ESS is now looking for a Finance Officer to the Finance Group, organised within the Project Support and Administration Directorate. The Finance Group consists of 8 staff members, including this position. The main responsibility for the group is to ensure high quality of the general ledger in interest of the stakeholders; our member countries.
Job description
As ESS is a large research facility under construction, we are looking for a person who can drive our project for the development of our fixed asset register and eventually be responsible for this. A large part of the work consists of building a structure and improve the process and the system support for managing ESS facilities. It is therefore an advantage to have some technical knowledge as the work will involve regular contacts with our technical staff.
As a Finance Officer you will also work with quality assurance, particularly through controls in the day-to-day work to ensure high quality of the general ledger. You have a genuine interest and solid knowledge in accounting, both ongoing and legal. With your expertise, you will act as an advisor both within the Finance team and to ESS as a whole. You will be part of developing and improving the administrative processes within the team. Among your tasks are also to be a part of the monthly closing. As part of the Finance team, you will support in common work tasks in the group, and your tasks may vary and/or change over time.
In this position you will have a great possibility to develop your role together with the colleagues within the team.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
• Master Degree in Industrial Engineering & Management or MBA Finance or similar
• At least 2 years experience of financial system support for managing larger facilities
• Experience of working in an international environment
• Very good oral and written English skills; knowledge of Swedish would be an advantage

Duration & Location
The position is a permanent position with a 6 months probationary period.
Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
