In Södertälje, we have AstraZeneca's largest global manufacturing and distribution facility, in total we employ around 4,500 people and manufacture more than 40% of the AZ group total volume. We are always looking for ways to improve ourselves, on that account we are now looking for you, our new Financial Controller who will continue to strive on making us the best that we can be.
We are a small specialist team working closely together, organized within Group Finance Reporting (GFR) globally. Today, we are three colleagues in Södertälje looking forward to meeting our fourth member.
What you'll do
As a member of GFR based in Sweden, your primary responsibility will be delivering high-quality financial data to assist the management team in gaining financial insight needed to make informed decisions.You will be the key person to provide financial reporting to the Board; Senior Executive Team and other executives; and externally: to regulatory authorities, shareholders and other key partners. In other words - we get to see things through, end-to-end and not only advice!
This includes responsibility in delivering financial information that follows GAAP (Swedish and IFRS) and act in an advisory role ensuring that complex reporting transactions are accurately reflected in the reports.
Our team is responsible for statutory accounting for all Swedish legal entities as well as being part of the global GFR team consolidation of the AZ group accounts and especially to managing reporting to group from Sweden. The team also give advice to the business regarding IFRS accounting standards as well as Swedish GAAP. Other specific areas are the responsibility for the Swedish pensions accounting and financial assets accounting. The team is also responsible for all corporate transactions such as dividends, capital transactions etc.
Responsibilities for our Financial Controller:
* Participate in the month end close reporting
* Monitoring and managing accuracy of the accounting records for AstraZeneca AB
* Reviewing the monthly reporting of results into the group consolidation and review of a number of Sweden Balance accounts reconciliations
* Providing ad-hoc support to the business in relation to Swedish GAAP/IFRS
* Participate in the preparation of the annual financial documents for all Swedish legal entities in the AZ group, and working closely with the group's auditors
* Participate in the preparation of the Group Annual Report
* Supporting in global finance projects
* Working with key business partners, such as the finance shared services, tax, company secretarial, legal team and, perhaps the most fun and developing contact we have: the rest of the business!
Essential for the role
* A degree in Business Administration or Economics
* At least three years' experience of qualified finance work within accounting or audit
* A good understanding of IFRS as well as Swedish GAAP
* Excellent language skills in Swedish and in English
As our Financial Controller you need an analytical attitude while simultaneously oriented to problem-solving. You have to be focused on delivery and, in periods, be used to working under pressure. You also need to have some understanding of taxation and experience of working in a global organization. In addition to this, your excel-skills need to be strong.
