Field Test Engineer

We are looking for a person interested in Product Development tasks in general, but preferably towards Field Testing. You have ambitions and energy to develop yourself and the company in a way that later will lead to new tasks and responsibility. As a person you enjoy working in a team and have the ability to inspire your team colleagues and feeling engaged by goal settings. Since the job consists of an extensive net of contacts both internally and externally your networking skills should be very good and prioritized
The field test group is responsible for Volvo Penta?s field test activities within the Marine- and Industrial product segments. As a Field Test Engineer you will be responsible for test objects connected to selected OEM?s or customers and for a specific engine range depending on the projects you will participate in. The responsibility covers planning and start-up of field tests objects as well as support during the test execution, and completion of test.
The work mainly involves following tasks:
Lead preparation and installation of Penta equipment in field test objects.
Follow-up of operational field tests at customer's sites.
Plan service and maintenance of field test objects together with customers and workshops.
Perform updates and specific tests on field test objects.
Follow up of failures and fault handling.
Plan training for customers and operators.
Support with installation of loggers and measurement equipment on field test objects.
Qualifications:
Experience of diesel engine development and -testing or experience of field testing activities is desired.
Engineering Degree in mechanical engineering alternatively electrical engineering or similar education.
Experience of diesel engine calibration and optimization is a plus.
As a person you are structured and well organized. You enjoy working in teams and have the ability to work with several parallel tasks and functions, such as projects, customers, OEM's, workshops etc.
Fluent in English and Swedish.
