The Chassis Gothenburg department has the mission to maintain and develop the premium Volvo trucks, such as our FH/FM/FMX products. We take full product ownership of the complete chassis and work as "front face" towards the Volvo Brand.
All teams are tasked to cope in an agile way with challenging deliveries in the coming years meeting C02 reductions, new legal requirements and, introducing new technologies such as electromobility, while working to create and maintain a culture of passion and trust.

In the Exterior Noise team, we have the responsibility to secure that the products deliver the legal and quality noise requisites. To secure this, we are responsible for the noise package design but also to work together with a big cross-functional team composed from other GTT groups. The team is responsible to manage and set the component level requirements, design acoustic solutions, perform exterior noise simulations, follow tests and certification procedures, build the exterior noise roadmap, including advanced engineering and new technologies.

About the role
As a Feature Leader Exterior Noise you will be directly involved in the development work of our Volvo products and involved in a wide range of our components. You will play an important role in the technology shift towards more environmentally friendly trucks using electric drivetrains.
You will secure, maintain, and develop solutions to meet the Exterior Noise Feature Requirements incl. balancing between different areas. You will support Product Owners and Feature planning specialists in their roadmap work to plan for future technology solutions to meet upcoming legislation and vehicle requirements. Setting engineering targets on the different subsystems and support, follow up and report the progress to make sure that the complete truck will fulfill the noise targets, is another responsibility.
Additional responsibilities:
Secure, maintain, and develop the feature knowledge overtime for different brands, segments, markets, and applications.
Be the go-to-person when it comes to NVH support and recommendation in chassis development.
Responsibility for ensuring the establishment of a V&V plan for all systems/components, to assure target fulfillment.
The work is challenging, but you will not be on your own, you will be working hand in hand with your NVH colleagues in the Volvo Group. You will be working closely with a team of senior NVH experts and NVH specialists.

Requirements:
Master's degree in Acoustics Engineering, Sound and Vibration, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent education.
Several years of experience and knowledge in the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) area within the automotive industry, for example:
Setting sound requirements at various levels for systems and components.
Legal requirements and benchmarking.
Participate in technical negotiations (with authorities and management is advantageous).
Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
