ABB's Robotics and Discrete Automation business is creating the future of flexible manufacturing with smart and collaborative machines. Robotics develops, manufactures and markets robots with associated control systems, software, etc. Through automation, ABB Robotics helps its customers improve productivity, quality and safety in their work environment. Important customer segments within the division are the manufacturing industry, the automotive industry, the pharmaceutical industry, food & beverage, logistics and electronics, among others.
As a Field Service Technician, you will perform service work in accordance with ABB's quality standards and safety guidelines. You'll work closely with both customers and other ABB teams, and you'll act as the technology hub that delivers quality and meets customers' service needs. You are responsible for providing routine maintenance and technical support onsite or remotely.
The placement for this position is one of the following locations: Umeå, Skellefteå, Luleå
Your responsibilities
Your duties include troubleshooting, repairs, customer support and preventive maintenance of our robot systems.
You troubleshoot equipment and make recommendations to ensure that the fault does not recur in the future.
You'll build and maintain strong customer relationships, assess customer needs, and provide specialist support and solutions.
You identify opportunities for the development of new services, equipment and methods.
In addition to product know-how and service expertise on ABB's robots and control cabinets, expertise is also needed to be able to service and maintain our machine tending cells based on vision.
You share ABB's core values of security and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while feeling responsible for your colleagues and the business.

Your background
You are a trained electrician or have equivalent work experience.
You have experience in reading electrical drawings, mechanical drawings and manuals.
It is an advantage if you have a vocational education in Robotic Automation, technical/engineering technology education in electricity or equivalent professional experience.
It is an advantage if you have experience/knowledge of different vision systems.
If you have knowledge of programming e.g. rapid, robot studio and PLC (TIA portal) it is an advantage.
You have a category B driving licence and enjoy travelling on business.
You have a high level of security, are adaptable, collaborative and solution-oriented.
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
