Are you a technical problem solver who likes a high pace and quick decisions? Do you have knowledge or a great interest in , plastic assembly from injection molded parts used in medical devices or in vitro diagnostics? This might be the position for you!
Cepheid is a fast growing company in molecular diagnostics. They are now in a expansion phase and are looking for new talents in several different departments. The failure investigation group is a part of Technical Operations, and their job is to investigate quality problems in Cepheid's products from both internal as well as external customers. The products are integrated systems based on real time PCR. The production today consists of filling the reaction chamber with biochemical reagents. With the expansion, Cepheid will start to manufacture the "plastic reaction container", and with that the investigation group needs new colleagues with knowledge in plastic assembly.
As a failure investigation engineer you will support ongoing production with root cause analysis and investigation on various types of failures from Cepheid reagents and consumables.
As an investigator you are expected to have good knowledge about the medical devices that Cepheid is producing.
Your work tasks will be:
• Support manufacturing activities for first-line investigations of product or process failures
• Develop new test methods and tools, and validate them for failure investigation use
• Independently lead failure investigations and perform root cause analysis such as data analysis, physical inspection, execution of laboratory tests, documentation and report results in various formats both orally and written
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with a university degree within material sciences, biotechnology, molecular biology or similar with at least five years of relevant professional experience. Preferably you have experience working with advanced plastic production in medical technology.
You have:
• Experience in data analysis, physical inspection, metrology, design of experiments, test engineering and test automation including scripting, root cause analysis techniques and documentations of results
• Understanding molecular biology products or diagnostic product utilizing nucleic acid amplification tests including system level relationship between reagents, consumables, and instrument components is meritorious
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment and/or with cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations
• Experience with some statistical analysis and data management for large volume complex data sets
As a person you are service minded, and are able to work independently and cross-functionally to provide effective support. You can successfully handle multiple investigations simultaneously with short deadlines.
