hela Sverige Avalanche Studios Group has been growing and evolving for the better part of two decades, and we're not about to slow down! To help tell our story of majestic elk, mechanical invaders, mutant dinos and all the rest, we're now looking for an External Communications Manager.
As External Communications Manager, you'll join a small but growing team of seasoned communications professionals and take full ownership of our group-led PR and external communications efforts. You'll also collaborate with many other teams across the company, as you help highlight our releases, open roles, efforts around work-life balance, cutting edge technology development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and much more. While you'll be based in Stockholm, it's just as important to showcase all our goings-on in New York, Malmö, and Liverpool. You'll help identify storytelling opportunities, recommend effective angles and avenues, and make each story sing (rather angelically) in tune with our brand voice.
As External Communications Manager, you'll build and maintain a network of media and influencer contacts. You'll also identify, appoint, and prep spokespeople across the company as they get ready to take the stage on our behalf. You'll facilitate interviews, offer media training, measure the results of our efforts, and suggest suitable course-corrections as needed.
As you can tell, this role is as diverse as it is rewarding! And while you'll have a lot of creative freedom and autonomy, you'll also work closely with other talented communications professionals. The exchange of knowledge and experiences is both actively facilitated and widely encouraged.
To succeed, we think you're a friendly, low-ego person with a knack for clear and clever copy. You're used to meeting deadlines, working in data-driven ways, and creating independently while contributing to the team's goals. And while not required for this role, it doesn't hurt if you also know your way around the Adobe suite of software so you can contribute to basic art and video assets.
What you'll do
• Craft and own an external communications plan: areas of priority, calendar, and a roadmap for the path ahead - all corresponding to events, releases and more.
• Identify storytelling opportunities, collaborate with stakeholders, and draft inspiring copy to drive brand awareness and affinity.
• Familiarize yourself with, and internalize, our written tone of voice.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and streamers.
• Establish and develop relationships with event organizers and work with spokespeople to ensure exposure at exhibition talks and roundtables.
• Own the Avalanche Studios Group press room and draft press releases to support all major group-led news beats.
• Facilitate, prep, and follow up on any media interviews. Offer media training and support where needed.
• Support the divisions' marketing teams in all things PR and external communications.
• Support hiring teams in drafting open role descriptions that reflect company values, culture, and tone of voice.
• Routinely measure results, present them to stakeholders in a digestible format, and course-correct when needed.
Who you are
• You have 3+ years of PR or communications experience.
• You're a talented writer who can adapt to our brand voice when given relevant guidance. We write exclusively in English, so an understanding of Swedish is not required.
• You have experience working with relevant publishing and measuring platforms and tools.
• You have an interest in gaming and pop culture in general.
• You're friendly, collaborative, and low-ego. We're a small team, so we frequently lend each other a helping hand, even outside of our areas of expertise.
• You're curious, creative, and always looking for smarter ways to work that will help the team reach their full potential.
• You're proactive and have a clear sense of ownership. You'll be given a lot of creative freedom and autonomy, while you contribute to the team's overarching goals.
Does this sound like you? Even remotely? Well, congrats on being a very promising candidate! We'd love to meet you.
