About the position
Our newly created Exploration Department is rapidly expanding and we are looking for a driven, curious and committed Exploration Geologist who wants to be involved and contribute to sustainable mining operations in Pajala. Our mining operations are conducted in Kaunisvaara, however our drill core archive and mapping site is located in central Pajala, which is where this position will be based.
Tasks
The position will form part of the Exploration Department, however, as an Exploration Geologist you will work more closely to the geologists in the Planning Department. Your work will include the development and implementation of exploration programs in collaboration with the Company's chief geologist. This work will include planning, conducting and evaluating geological and geophysical surveys. Geological field work will also be included such as the monitoring of drilling, mapping, sampling, conducting geophysical measurements and maintaining exploration equipment. As an Exploration Geologist, you will compile and write reports based on geological information related to completed exploration efforts for the development of the Company's mineral resource and reserve models. You will act as a specialist in geological issues and, where applicable, liaise with key stakeholders. The work you will conduct will be in an environment of constant change placing a high demand on safety awareness and security.
Education and Qualifications
You will require a university degree in geology as well as practical and theoretical knowledge in exploration and related areas. You should have 3-5 years of experience within exploration and/or mining. Experience within iron ore exploration will be advantageous.
The ability to work within Microsoft Office is a requirement. It will also be an advantage if you have experience of working with geological modeling tools e.g. Leapfrog or Vulcan. English and/or Swedish is a requirement. Finnish is advantageous. A valid Code B drivers licence is also required.

You are highly efficient at working collaboratively, and listen, communicate and resolve conflicts constructively.
Contractual Terms: Full-time, permanent position.

Salary: The salary is individually negotiated, however leave and other social benefit elements of your contract are structured according to the local, collective Swedish Civil Service Agreement with the white-collar unions namely Unionen, Ledarna and The Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers.
