With introduction of new technologies, such as 5G, NFV / SDN, cloud, automation, etc. efficient and adequate network and service management becomes the most critical key success factor for the network virtualization. Further on, the network function virtualization opens up for new business models both for Ericsson and Ericsson customers, these new business models creates new business opportunities for the whole Ericsson and particular within the OSS/BSS domain.
For Ericsson OSS/BSS, the management of NFV is both an enormous challenge and opportunity. The new business opportunities emerging from NFV will enforce change to organizations and business processes of our customers. The changed ecosystem will enable new players to entre the market and eventually the way Ericsson works will adopt to support these new business opportunities. This implies that the existing OSS/BSS capabilities must be extended and new must be built to support the new ecosystem.
Following the Business Architecture Process Organization, BAPO paradigm the expert area will focus on understanding the potential SP SDN/NFV business drivers, covert them into the relevant Architecture with focus on OSS/BSS, identify how the organizations and processes of Ericsson and Ericssons customers will change and design relevant capabilities in existing and new products and tools.
Simplification, automation and easy of use are the main architectural objectives to achieve. The information, integration and innovation will be key focus areas when evolving the OSS/BSS driven by the NFV. The expert area will as well have in focus driving the relevant standardization in order to manage the entire ecosystem.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Actively contribute to position Ericsson as the technology leader in the area of OSS/BSS with focus on management of NFV, SP SDN and cloud.
Represent Ericsson as a technical Expert for the area in contacts with customers, competitors and at conferences.
Actively contribute to secure consistency and cross-area interworking of the OSS/BSS Architecture, solution and products developed across Ericsson, from a strategic point of view.
Participate in and support OSS/BSS product release projects, as well as product and portfolio planning programs.
Interact with and influence vendors in the area of management solutions for NFV/SDN and Cloud and the relevant standards in a way favorable to Ericsson
Support drive of Ericsson standardization activity both through open source communities and traditional standardization bodies in area of the NFV management.
