About this position:
The new Business Area Cloud Software & Services (BCSS) is crafted to capitalize on the opportunity of the convergence of cloud and services. As our customers deploy 5G, our aim is to accelerate the optimization and automation of increasingly sophisticated networks, by redefining to cloud native software and services. This, in turn, will enable them to provide more driven services, at a faster pace. BCSS combines extensive capabilities in R&D, services, software, lifecycle management and AI to build a driven edge and secure the success of our customers. Our more than 30000 Cloud Software and Services employees support global customers across 180 geographies.
Within BCSS, the Core Networks Engineering unit is crafted to ensure a strong focus on end-to-end product development, with aligned flows, tools, and processes. The unit strives to provide outstanding customer experience by alignment of Core Networks architecture and products, ways of working, roadmaps and commercial structure.
Within Core Networks Engineering, the Architecture and Technology unit has a BA-wide responsibility to drive the architectural evolution of the BCSS portfolio, to secure and demonstrate BCSS technology leadership through innovation and through making well-informed technology choices, to drive standardization, open source and IPR in BCSS, to drive key technology programs in BCSS and to engage closely with customers, partners and ecosystems to influence according to Ericsson strategy.
We are now looking for an Expert Core Network Robustness to join our team of senior technical leaders.
Responsibilities:
Drive, evolve, maintain and communicating robustness solutions for Core Networks. Drive target architecture within the area.
Identify required technology system studies for evolved solutions
Contribute with strategic insights around trends, concept maturity, technology maturity and readiness in evolution of the technology area
Drive technology alignment cross CNE and BCSS. Part setting technology strategy and secure execution
Representing the CNE externally to customers.
Drive investigations on BCSS level and supporting PDU-level technology studies
Building and maintaining a network of architects involved in the area
Support standardization strategy and execution in the area
Maintaining contact with and advising Solution Lines and Customer Units
Ensure the necessary decisions in relevant architecture boards/councils are taken to facilitate the evolution of the technology area
Participate in portfolio evolution and planning beyond roadmaps
To be successful in this role you must have:
MSc or PhD level in a relevant technical field
Expert level knowledge in Core Network Robustness including redundancy and resilience
Long and well recognized experience from working with solution level architecture evolution
Experience from working with standardization
Ability to drive and influence technology and product decisions
Excellent track record of driving technical investigations
Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
Experience from collaborating across organizational boundaries
Excellent written and spoken English
Excellent communication skills
Business understanding and customer insight
Critical thinking
