The Accounting Governance department, within the finance organisation, is now looking for an Expert, responsible for supporting the Company's objectives related to maintaining a well-controlled business and high quality financial external reporting.

Being an Expert within the Accounting Governance team means that you will have to think and act globally and be involved in our global financial processes. In this role, you will be part of a team of approximately 4 employees based in Gothenburg, all keen on ensuring high quality financial external reporting and provision of IFRS technical guidance to other parts of the organization.



Accounting Governance is working closely with Volvo Car Group subsidiaries all over the world giving guidance, ensuring adherence to the Volvo Car Group's Accounting and Reporting Directives and participating in different projects and accounting topics. Working in the Accounting Governance department gives a big opportunity to a wide circle of contacts within Volvo Car Group as well as getting a comprehensive view of the financial activities within the Group. The position will require extensive contact with different positions within the global finance organisation as well as with external auditors.



What you'll do

In this position you will be responsible for the Accounting and Reporting Directives for the group and you will decide on accounting treatment in different projects. You will decide on accounting treatment related to all kind of agreements and stay updated on IFRS development. Having an active role in external accounting forums is part of this role. You will also communicate development in a clear and concise way to senior management while leading or participating in different projects. Lastly, you will drive accounting related questions with external auditors and be responsible for educating the organisation in accounting related topics.



Do you fit the profile?

We are looking for you who is positive and willing to drive change in a dynamic environment. You have the ability to prioritize to deliver on commitments while being eager to learn more. You are interested in accounting and financial reporting questions, and very analytical in your way of working. We want you to bring a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, preferably with a major in Finance and Accounting. We want you to also bring a minimum of 4 years of working experience within accounting in an international organization. You have broad knowledge in IFRS accounting principles and are fluent in English both oral and written. You are process oriented, structured and logical in your approach. You are customer focused with a holistic view and global thinking. Being a good communicator and having the ability to build strong relationships within the organization is key. You have high integrity and are flexible and able to embrace changes and work proactively in a changing environment.
