Over the years we have been growing and today we are working within the areas Automotive, Control Systems, Industry, Purchasing and Recruitment. This vacancy is positioned within the Recruitment area, which means you will be employed by our customer.
On behalf of our customer we are looking for a Technical Manager to their plant located in Gothenburg. The Technical Manager is reporting to the Plant Manager.
The technical organisation is the department coordinating the technical work from new products, process to changes in running production and activities to maintain the production equipment in original status.
The Technical Manager is assigned to ensure the equipments and material flows effective and efficient running of the manufacturing in full compliance with Lean, innovation and manufacturing excellence strategy. Make sure the departments within the technical area are educated and follow the Lean principles while ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety at all times. A part of the job is to act as change agent in order to make the team as flexible and agile as possible to adapt to a changing and continuous improving environment. Focus on increasing the performance and productivity of the team and the site while keeping the internal and external customer requirements at the forefront of all activities. Support Plant Manager job to ensure the employee motivation is maintained at a high level. Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth implementation of new products, changes on products/process and quality assurance.
What are the duties?
• Lead and develop the technical department’s activities so that existing and new products are manufactured and delivered on schedule, within quality standards and cost objectives. Assign project leaders for new/changed products/processes.
• Ensure unfailing support to all Health & Safety initiatives and drive the appropriate behaviors so as to build and maintain a safe and ergonomic work place.
• Responsible for the department to have flexibility so that adjustment can be carried out when changes of demand occurs.
• Drive the technology and innovations towards a continuous improvement in areas as choice of technology, project management, total productive maintenance, material consumption, standard costing, geometrics and tolerances, machine utilization, OEE, scrap deduction and secure work safety.
• In close cooperation with the Plant Manager and Human Resources, develop local talent pipeline to ensure succession.
• Drives the collection of RFQ's from the customer, collects data and prepare response to be reviewed in management team prior to answer to the customer.
• Develop, manage and distribute work to the team using level loading and similar lean principles.
• Drive problem-solving and root cause activities using PPS and similar methodology
• Monitor staffing plan of the departments in the section and ensure long term budget fulfillment
• Plan and monitor the technical sections budgets and forecasts for cost and investments, this includes spare parts and refurbishment.
• Be an active member of the Management Team
• Foster a culture of can do, and ensure that the departments acts and performs in a compliant manner and adheres to corporate procedures and principles.
• Secure that workforce follows the personnel policies and code of conduct.
• Responsible that the equipment, machines and building are kept/maintained in an optimal running state.
Qualifications
• Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of engineering and manufacturing experience in an fast moving industrial corporation.
• Successful track record in leading and implementing lean tools, techniques and end to end methodologies.
• Successful track record in implementing and developing new products/processes, layouts, leveling production, material flows and changes in mid size plants.
• Full understanding and proven ability to enhance productivity to meet near and long term goals.
• Previous experience of material flow planning and value stream thinking.
• Ability to effectively operate, influence and communicate with employees.
• Fluent written and spoken Swedish and English.
