The successful candidate will join a team with extensive system knowledge of Infinera Metro products. The System Architect / System Manager role holds a variety of responsibilities and required skills.
The main responsibility for the System Architect/System Manager in the team is to work on requirements, designs, platforms and concepts, preparing such for smooth transition into the development organization. It involves system level design on an architectural and solutions level, and includes system qualities and characteristics of our current and next generation's optical networking products.
You will be focusing on analyzing customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle. Your keys tasks will be to drive architecture evolution to enable future products keeping the big picture in mind, still being able to deep dive into the design and implementation when needed.
Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:
• Ownership/responsibility for system/product/network architecture, principles and guidelines.
• Work with long term architecture evolution and coordinate architectural strategies.
• Governance of current architecture and system Interfaces.
• Supporting and provide guidance development teams.
• Establishing critical non-functional requirements (system characteristics requirements).
• Gathering requirements to define high level architecture and help with breakdown of functional requirements.
• Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Driving technical studies/pre-development projects and give guidance to execution projects all the way out to the customer.
• Responsibility for synchronization/harmonization of the Infinera Metro products from a system behavior point of view.
• Keeping up to date with industry standards, trends and emerging technologies.
• Master's or Doctoral degree in relevant area.
• 10+ years' working experience from Telecommunication or Datacom system and product development.
• Previous experience from a similar role.
• Knowledge about standards and accustomed to interpret the standards and specifications such as: ITU-T, IETF, IEEE, and MEF.
• Exposure to protocols and interfaces such as: OTN, SDN, MEF, IP, ERPS, LACP, OF, SAI, L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, OSPF, BGP, NETCONF, YANG, RESTCONF, etc.
• Good understanding of optical transmission and subsystems (transmitters, receivers, ROADM, EDFA/Raman, optical filters).
• Understanding real time systems characteristics.
• Knowledge in Embedded systems.
• Well organized, motivated, with good communication, leadership and presentation skills.
• Good written and spoken Swedish and English.
• Highly motivated team player used to cross-functional interaction.
• Experience in Agile product development methodologies.
• Distributed/remote teams experience.
Preferred
• Advanced expertise in at least one of the following areas: Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, IP, OTN or network management functions and interfaces.
• Experience from L2 switching and/or L3 network architectures.
• Experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
• Programming knowledge in any of the areas: Java, C, C++ or similar.
