We are looking for smart, knowledgeable and creative people to strengthen our efforts in positioning and machine learning. Positioning and machine learning are key technologies for the next generation mobile networks. In these efforts, we work together in tight and diverse teams to define and realize new capabilities for the mobile networks, which are used by billions of people worldwide. This includes further increasing the network performance we experience today with our smartphones and tablets, but also improving the networks' support for the digital transformation of industries and societies. For the latter we design optimized connectivity solutions for billions of new devices and things, which enable completely new uses of the mobile networks and will create immense societal value.
In our units at Ericsson Research, Radio and Network Architecture and Protocols, we have the mission to develop and drive best-in-class algorithms, procedures, protocols and architecture solutions for current and future wireless access networks and mobile systems. As a researcher, you will participate in advanced research project teams developing new concepts and solutions for 5G NR and LTE radio networks. You will invent new features and evaluate their performance using state-of-the-art radio network system simulators and test-beds. You will be involved in international standardization in 3GPP and protect ideas in patents.
Job Summary
We are now looking for a Researcher to build and transfer technology competence to ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by:
• Contributing to Ericsson technology strategy
• Developing novel concepts, solutions and algorithms
• Driving standardization
• Introducing the solutions into product development
• Presenting prototypes, concept demonstrations and publications.
Responsibilities
• Perform, document and communicate research studies, measurements or computer simulations.
• Create new technical solutions and protect them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
• Represent Ericsson in external fora such as standardization, university collaborations, and customer meetings
• Supervise and coach other researchers
• Develop Research strategies
• Develop evaluation tools, demonstrators or test beds
• Innovate
Key Qualifications
• Education: PhD degree. Practical experience is not required
• Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in the job
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English
• Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently
• Creativity and ability to work independently
• Ability to develop and drive new ways of working, to produce research results in a more efficient way
