hela Sverige The research area Broadband Technologies drive research in three programs; Mobile Backhaul, Optical Transport and Enabling Technologies. These programs include control and data plane architecture, mobile backhaul link technologies (copper, fiber and Microwave access) as well as optical transport networks. Research branches are located in Kista, Mölndal, Pisa and San José.
The job position Experienced Researcher will be organized in the unit Mobile Backhaul and Network Management situated in Kista. We are looking for an Experienced Researcher with knowledge about telecom networks. You should be a good and innovative team player and you will work in a team with participation both from our own research area, other research areas as well as Development Units. You should demonstrate integrity in all situations and seek and share best practice with others. Actively coaches and empower others. The focus of this position will be on mobile backhaul and related aggregation transport networks.
Within this position you will:
• Investigate and develop architecture and technologies for converged networks with focus on mobile broadband backhaul.
• Investigate and develop new control and management architectures for converged networks.
• Develop solutions for full flexibility and dynamic operation on all network layers (including optical and packet)
• Utilizing testbeds to demonstrate high-performance transport architectures that minimizes jitter, delay and packet loss, while ensuring efficient control and management
• Drive cooperation with development units regarding backhaul architecture solutions.
• Drive and participate in cooperation with external parties (operators, universities, research institutes)
Qualifications
• Newly graduated PhD in areas relevant for telecommunication
• Knowledge about fixed and mobile telecom architecture and converged networks.
• Good knowledge about SW design and programming
• Good knowledge of IP networks, TCP/IP, resource management, and management protocols
