The world is moving closer and closer and the key for this is global networks connecting everyone and everything around us! We are a team belonging to Ericsson Research responsible for microwave and antenna hardware research. The group has world leading competences in areas from digital and RF component design to packaging, building practices, antenna hardware and system design! We work intensely with universities in Europe and the rest of the world as well as Ericsson internal product development units.

Our unit (Ericsson Research) secure future technology leadership for the Ericsson group impacting our product design in the 3-5 years perspective. We have been one of the key contributors in forming the concepts and standardisation for the mobile networks today referred to as2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. We are now looking for a Researcher with expertise in the radio antenna and hardware domain to drive this research area for mobile networks beyond 5G. The role includes being part of defining, building and evaluating prototype systems of the future Radio Access Networks and requires in-depth understanding of 3GPP based telecom systems and Software design.

Responsibilities
Scouting state of the art radio and antenna technologies
Driving innovation by applying the above technologies to the field of microwave and mm-wave communication
Contributing to technology demonstrators demonstrating technology in pre-commercial prototypes.
Experimentally verify designs and technology demonstrators in lab and trials with customers outside Ericsson
Drive and influence research activities with university partners
Publish results in leading scientific journals and conferences
Contributing to research strategies
Present prototypes, concept demonstrations and publications to internal partners and customers


Key Qualifications
Education: M Sc or equivalent or PhD or Licentiate degree within microwave-, mm-wave-, THz- or optical communication systems
Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge
Experience from working in a lab environment
Excellent skills in analog design tools
Good communication skills in written and spoken English
Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently
Creativity and skills to work independently
Ability to develop and drive new ways of working, to produce research results in a more efficient way. At Ericsson are working according to agile development principles
