Experienced Production Engineer - Machining Gears & Shafts

Background and organization
Volvo GTO pursuits to be the best transmission factory in the world. To achieve this, we need world class employees. The missing piece in the puzzle is now an experienced production engineer. We are looking for a team member that is passionate about technology and continuous improvements.
In the area of production engineering towards machining gears & shafts, we are 17 production engineers in different levels, and you will report directly to the Department manager. Are you next team member who is eager to join the team and support Volvo Group continuous journey?

Main areas of responsibility
Our area of responsibility is to prepare and industrialize new products and processes, refine existing products, maintain and if needed extend the installed capacity. The area is also responsible for technical support and continuous improvements that can be divided into reactive and proactive problem solving. An extensive part of your work can be in project form, were you can be assigned different roles within the project. We look forward in meeting our next talented production engineer.

A summary of your everyday work:
Preparation and industrialization of new products and processes
Project related work in product and industrialization projects including equipment procurement
Local process and technical ownership
Review and industrialization of DCN (Design change notification)
Participation in product development together with technology
Component ownership and perform PFMEA with input to DFMEA
Perform line balancing and flow optimization
Perform simulation (FACTS)
Lead improvement projects
Perform investigations and participate in global development work in areas like Industry 4.0

Personal profile and qualifications

As a production engineer, you are an important support function and it is crucial that you are service minded. Your focus should always be the customer. We also see that you have a structure way of mind and a proven ability to lead projects. You are ambitious, communicative and have a high sense of responsibility.

For this position, following qualifications and skills are required:
Academic background within the area of technology engineering and a strong technical interest
Vast experience of industrial engineering work, primarily within machining production engineering towards gears & shafts
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in both Swedish and English
Project Management experience is meritorious
Solid leadership abilities
