You will be interacting and collaborating with a diverse and international team of colleagues on procurement initiatives that influence many aspects of the business.
What you will do
As part of the procurement legal team at one of the most respected and recognisable car brands in the world, you will have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and take on all types of challenges, big and small, in a truly dynamic environment. Combining the experience of having manufactured cars for almost 100 years with our rapidly growing business realizing truly innovative ideas, makes for an exciting future that will require a lot of creative thinking. It 's all about people, challenging traditional ways.
You will provide legal support in all kind of purchasing matters, from non-complex up to complex nature or risk. That support includes, but is not limited to, support to buyers in negotiations with suppliers, document and contract drafting, prepare legal research, provide legal advice and supervise external legal advisors. You will handle matters independently and assume the full responsibility in relation to management at all levels in relevant parts of the business organisation. You will provide internal legal training to the organisation and be engaged in development of legal tools, templates and communication material for Volvo Cars Procurement.
Do you fit the profile?
In your professional life, before applying for a job at Volvo Cars, you have a Master of law or any other degree and/ or practice required to practicing law in the relevant jurisdiction and have worked at least 10 years as a lawyer at a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel, handling various commercial legal matters . You have experience of procurement in general, of software in-licensing specifically, and preferably about procurement for mass production, and you are bringing legal problem-solving to businesses. You have also acquired the ability to be a team player with a proactive and customer-oriented mind-set, and to provide high-quality legal support, without any supervision and often under time pressure. Defining and solving complicated problems that require careful analysis and good judgement is something you excel at. You can translate legal advice into actions that deliver business value in the context of global business strategies and lead procurement teams and negotiations of global nature with substantial values involved. You are used to continuously identifying improvement areas and driving change.
Last but not the least, we are looking for someone who - on a personal level - shares our values. Being enthusiastic, curious, collaborative, interested in technology with high integrity and a pragmatic approach towards things goes a long way.
