The Exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) department is responsible for the global platform development of exhaust aftertreatment systems for Volvo Group's different product around the world.
We develop the hardware as well as the software. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase.
Our group, EATS diagnostics, is responsible to develop functionality to diagnose the EATS. The diagnostics are mainly used to verify that the trucks environmental impact is kept low during the products complete lifetime, support for uptime and support the mechanics to make efficient fault tracing.
Our group is also responsible to follow our products during the complete lifetime using different data sources and analysis tools.
Work description

The main task is to implement functionality for the diagnostic system (also called the OBD system).
As a diagnostics system function developer you will be part of many aspects of development and implementation of embedded software functions. You and the team will understand the legal and customer requirements, and will design robust software solutions. The work involves the entire chain; from early concept development to maintaining our functionality in our production fleet. A working day can be both software development in front of the computer, as well as driving a truck, testing your developed functionality and having creative meetings.

You will have the opportunity to travel to e.g. visit our other sites or to do extreme climate testing. We work in small teams with close connection to control system developers, diagnostic system calibration developers, hardware developers, data scientist, after market solution developers etc.

We mostly use the graphical programing tool, Simulink/Targetlink, but knowledge in m-scripting, and C programming is useful to understand and improve our software architecture and testing framework.

Who are you?

To be successful in this position you need to be a team player and a problem solver. You are communicative, have good technical skills and are curious about learning new things. As a person we believe that you have a solution and result oriented attitude.

To be able to take on this challenge successfully we believe that you will possess the following skills and competencies:
Master of Science in Engineering or similar.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
At least 2 year experience from OBD development, more is meritorious.
Previous experience in embedded SW-development
