Description
The GSM Base Station SW organization is a small and efficient organization with a big responsibility due to nearly 2 millions of installed base stations in more than 170 countries. We are now developing software for new features in the GSM mobile system and for Ericsson's new Multi Standard Base Stations which requires close cooperation across GSM, 3G/WCDMA and 4G/LTE.
You will play an important role in the further development of the GSM Base Station SW and your contribution will have a direct impact on the bottom line. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the development of the Ericsson's biggest success ever and to build competence at the leading edge of the mobile technology.
We are searching for candidates in the following functions;
Sub-system verification- As a verification engineer you need to design test cases and set-up and handle the test environment. Your daily work will involve test analysis, preparing test scenarios, writing test cases, performing tests on a number of HW configurations, automation of test cases, evaluating test results and troubleshooting faults. Test verification work is done directly on HW units. Close co-operation with both system design, SW design and system verification is required.
For the right candidate there is also the possibility to combine this role with a team leader role.
Qualification vital for this position is:
• 3-5 years experience in SW verification
• Preferable knowledge and experience in Agilent Vee/HP Vee
• An understanding of Radio HW is considered a great advantage
System Verification - As a system verification engineer you must have the capability to analyze network level requirements, specifications, design tests and execute related test cases. Included in this job is also the task of finding faults, writing trouble reports, verifying corrections, and troubleshooting.
Test verification work is done directly on GSM base stations in simulated as well as target environments. You are required to become thoroughly familiar with different GSM base station models. Another aspect of this job is that the Tester may be expected to participate in ongoing field trials and customer product introduction campaigns.
Qualifications vital for this position are:
• 3-5 years experience in system verification
• experience in test management systems
• preferable ISTQB certification
Qualifications
You should have a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science and Engineering, Data Communication or equivalent academic degree.
You should also have:
• fluency in English - both written and spoken
• a strong drive for results and the willingness to take initiatives
• a strong team player with excellent communication skills

You have a genuine interest in technology and want to be the best in your area of expertise. You are also curious to understand the big picture and how a mobile network works. You are enthusiastic and take full ownership of your tasks. At the same time you are a self-starter who can take the initiative and work independently. You also need to be an effective team player.
