Purpose

As a critical part of the Community team, your role is to build and cultivate healthy and diverse communities that feel valued and in turn deliver value to our product portfolio.

The Position

You'll lead the creation of the community strategy for a number of Expansive Worlds products, ensuring we build player centric environments for our players to engage with that are highly welcoming and inclusive.

As we launch new products you will be called upon to kick start new or connected communities by adeptly researching the optimal way to start and grow a healthy community around new and diverse themes.

The role balances both a high degree of strategic thought alongside creativity in crafting compelling community plans for our products that drive interest, engagement and above all; trust. In addition you will engage directly with our players on our primary community channels to stay in touch with the community and understand their needs more effectively.

The role will regularly liaise with our customer support team, ensuring that this key relationship is working effectively and the teams are highly aligned.

This is a highly dynamic industry, and that means you need to be well-organized, adaptable and willing to advocate for great ideas - be that from you, or the community. Each role comes with a lot of responsibility, freedom and autonomy - which we believe is key to growing our people and the business. This position reports to the Communications Manager, Expansive Worlds.

Responsibilities

• Build the community strategy for Expansive Worlds in line with the latest trends and our strategic goals
• Plan community activity in collaboration with the Community Engagement Manager
• Build the community strategy for multiple products in collaboration with the PMM's
• Maintain the community calendar ensuring it's executed against and reported on
• Engage directly with community on all primary platforms and monitor all platforms
• Report on community engagement and health and build insights for us to learn and improve our community strategies
• Structure a community growth plan to ensure we're expanding our reach
• Accountable for the streaming strategy and programme
• Be the primary marketing contact for our customer support team, ensuring alignment and a strong relationship is built and maintained
• Responsible for writing copy for statements, patch notes, community updates etc
• Build and manage the community feedback loop in collaboration with the dev team

Required

• 3+ years of experience managing a community in video games
• Professional experience managing video game communities
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience moderating or managing video game communities and forums
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills
• Works well in a matrixed organization and is a team player
• Adaptable to change and flexible in approach

Desired

• Experience leading a team of community managers
• Building gaming communities from the ground up
• Previous experience from marketing within the video games or entertainment industry
• Has experience of and is comfortable with public speaking
• Understanding of social media tools, sentiment reporting and social media analytics
• A degree in marketing or a related field
• An interest in outdoor pastimes is a bonus
