Who are we?
Interior trim is a section that belongs to Interior Engineering, consisting of six groups, working with a wide range of technologies and materials, e.g. door trim, concealing panels, pillar trim, sill mouldings, rear door trim, headlining systems, carpets, insulations & absorbents, interior light, functional parts, luggage covers and trunk trim. A majority of all parts are developed in-house on built to print basis, by groups focused on delivering world class interiors for our future cars. We are responsible for all product documents defining the interior trim of the car.
Interior trim, is looking for an Experienced CAE Engineer Solidity/Durability who want to work with strength, fatigue and/or load analyses in car projects but also contribute to our method development. You will belong to our Program execution group that lead the section deliveries in: Advanced Engineering, Concept, Industrialisation, Launch, Cost reduction, Quality, and Running changes. We are about 15 colleagues in our group and placed in Torslanda. As the CAE Engineer you will focus on using the section Solidity and Durability CAE methods, supporting our vision "a flawless launch". You will together with our system responsible (SA), design engineers, verifications coordinators and in close cooperation with our vehicle engineering CAE centres, perform CAE calculations to improve our designs.
Main tasks
* Perform CAE analyses including gather information, build Finite Element models, set up simulations, draw conclusions, write reports and presents results
* Create and develop virtual simulation concept models
* Perform simulations and analysis to guide the development team forward.
* Report to the CAE team leader who leads and distributes the tasks of the team within each car project
* Educate and support design engineers in CAE methods, eg Catia FEM
* Analyse field quality data and develop test methods that will mitigate future reoccurrence.
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Good knowledge about mechanics and strength of materials corresponding master-level courses
* Experience of FE simulations of components in plastic and composite materials
* Experience of CAE analysis preferably within durability and solidity and drive for result
* Skills in Ansa, Nastran, Abaqus and MetaPost.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Swedish and English)
Meritorious:
* Knowledge of the Interior systems and complete vehicle is meritorious.
* Experience FE tools ANSA, and LS Dyna and topology optimization tools such as OptiStruct or similar is meritorious
