We are now recruiting a Biochemist experienced in protein purification for a 1 year assignment within the global department Cell, Protein and Structural Sciences at AstraZeneca, Mölndal. You will join the Protein Science Section whose task is to produce purified proteins for assays and structural studies.
We are looking for a highly motivated protein biochemist with particular emphasis in the ability to work with multiple purification projects. The job will consist of a significant portion of laboratory work aimed at supporting the lead discovery projects. Broad experience in purification of recombinant proteins is needed. Working experience with protein purification from different expression hosts and familiarity with assay development is a plus. Working experience with endotoxin free purifications is advantageous.
A university degree in Biochemistry or other relevant areas and few years of working experience in protein purification in an industrial setting and/or a PhD in relevant discipline is required. The position requires a strong laboratory focus.
The work is carried out in teams focused on different research areas and applicants should be delivery focused with excellent communication and team working skills.
The position requires you to manage projects independently. Candidates with experience of project coordination and cross discipline interactions are asked to exemplify this in the cover letter.
The drug discovery research involves multidisciplinary teams working together with a common aim in an international environment.
