Massive is looking to hire an Associate Creative Director to work on our upcoming MMO. This position is an exciting opportunity if you have been dreaming about working on a next generation full-scale MMO title. The project is still at an early stage so you will be able to take part in shaping the title's fundamentals and work with seeing the vision through to the live stage and beyond. As the Associate Creative Director, you will work closely with the Creative Director to maintain the vision of the game and help spread the vision to team members and external stakeholders. In this position you need to have a very strong knowledge about MMO games, their game mechanics, lingo and audience expectations.
Responsibilities
• You will, together with the Creative Director and the game design team, maintain the gameplay and overall game vision
• You will assist the Creative Director with creation of presentations both for internal use and external communication
• You will communicate the intended purpose of a system, being able to discuss and explain the vision for all types of audiences
• You are expected to make decisions that are in line with the overall game vision
You as a candidate
This position is a great position if you have several years of experience and several published titles behind you, and you are looking for a new opportunity. This title will allow you to join a team at an international studio, working on an AAA MMO title. As an Associate Creative Director, you should be absolutely passionate about games and design and have a really deep understanding of MMO game mechanics and the MMO audience. You should also be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team, where you will be expected to inspire others. You should have very high standards and a mindset to create the best MMO experience ever. You have experience in giving frequent presentations and you are comfortable in getting up on stage in front of execs or a larger audience.
Required skills and experience:
• Minimum 7 years of industry or other relevant experience
• Worked on at least 3 AAA titles
• Absolute passion for playing and making games, especially MMOs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent understanding of what makes a game appealing to different audiences
• A good understanding of presentation programs such as Mindmap, Photoshop and Powerpoint
Additional bonus skills:
• Experience developing third-person action games
• Experience developing MMOs or RPGs
• Experience from other creative ventures (e.g. music, art, writing)
