Bank of China (BoC) was founded in 1912. As the first Chinese commercial bank which was listed in Shanghai and Hongkong stock exchange and the most international and diversified Chinese bank, BoC is currently providing its financial services in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and 35 countries.
As a first Chinese bank established among the Nordic countries, BoC has opened its office at Birger Jarlsgatan 28 in Stockholm in July. The Stockholm branch, a subordinate to BoC Luxembourg limited company, has so far launched deposits and loan services, remittance, foreign exchange, trade financing, RMB settlement services, aiming at both corporate and personal customers.
Dina arbetsuppgifterThe key responsbilities:
As an accountant at BoC, you will be working in a wide role, cooperating with team members at the Business Management Department (Back Office). Besides the daily/monthly accounting, clearing and reporting functions, you will be also involved with the following tasks:
• Settlement of payments for Money Market activities and FX operations
• Regular checking and updating the bank's interest rates
• Maintenance of the bank's foreign exchange rates
• Checking the foreign exchang exposure
• Monitoring the liquidity
• Preparation of the quarterly VAT returns
• Interface with BOC Luxembourg and other overseas branches regarding client accounts in respect of regular payments in and out of the accounts
• Maintenance of Financial Records in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance with both Internal and External reporting requirements
• Period end balance sheet reconciliation
• Standardizing and consolidating Balance Sheet procedures and practices and to assist with the provision of accurate and timely information to the accounting team.
• Processing of all outgoing bank payments both manually & electronically
KvalifikationerQualifications:
• Bachelor/Master degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subjects
• 5-8 years of work experience within accounting/clearing/reporting in the banking sector
• Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English, speaking in mandarin is a plus
Personal skills:
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent attention to detail
• Solid analytical skills
• Demonstrate a practical and pragmatic approach to solving complex matters
• Extensive reconciliation experience and the ability to investigate the "root cause" of reconciliation differences
• Use of Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• Committed to positive change
• Highly self-motivated
