Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is an independent, non-profit foundation and international centre for medicines safety and scientific research. Our trusted range of pharmacovigilance products and services assist the global pharmaceutical industry, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to develop new medicines and to actively monitor the use of medicines already on the market. One of our pharmacovigilance products, WHODrug Global is a drug dictionary used for drug coding by thousands of pharmaceutical companies, contract research organisations (CROs), among others, and is mandated by leading regulatory authorities.
You will be a member of the Outreach team at UMC, which focuses on raising awareness of our products and services, generating interest among potential new users, collaborating with external stakeholders, and caring for our extensive user communities. We collaborate internally with product management teams, the customer engagement team, our communications team and other external-facing units at UMC. By hosting webinars, User Group meetings and attending conferences around the globe, we engage with both potential and existing users of our products and services. Whether through a newsletter, an event, a brochure, or a presentation, we make clear that UMC's work - and thus its products and services - is fair, professional, efficient, and problem-solving.
What you will do
- Manage all practical aspects of UMC's product-related external events, face-to-face as well as online, from concept until evaluation.
- Contribute to the event programme planning.
- Plan and facilitate logistics and travel arrangements for face-to-face events and conferences.
- Coordinate and host online events and webinars, providing technical support for participants before, during and after events.
- Measure the satisfaction and impact of events and turn feedback into meaningful insights and improvements.
- Develop original content for event promotion emails, social media campaigns, print adverts and the UMC website.
- Assist with other activities and projects within the Outreach team as needed.
Who you are
- You have at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- You have excellent English skills both written and spoken (equivalent to at least B2 level). Extra languages are a plus.
- You have experience in organising and arranging all aspects of professional events -face-to-face and online.
- You have strong organisational and project management skills.
- It is a plus if you have experience from life sciences or another relevant field.
- You have an aptitude for collaboration and teamwork.
- You are able to effectively handle multiple tasks and changing schedules with a creative and adaptive approach to overcoming obstacles.
- You understand the importance of creating and maintaining good relationships.
- You are self-driven and result oriented.
Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is a centre for international service and scientific research in the field of pharmacovigilance. We are the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, and manage the technical and operational aspects of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring since 1978.
As an independent, non-profit foundation, we support the World Health Organization, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders who share our vision of advancing medicines safety. Through research and development of new scientific methods, we explore the benefits and harms of medicines for patients, and offer products and services used by health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry worldwide
