hela Sverige The Project Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a "Estimation and cost control facilities".
Description of position/department
Includes all buildings and systems required for operation of the accelerator, target and instruments, interfaces to be agreed upon.
It also includes site and infrastructure preparation, construction support, all facility buildings, user and general service buildings.
Description of main responsibilities
• Having a general knowledge of the project's technical design and the systems intended function.
• Contribute to the definition of interfaces between different functions and disciplines.
• To influence the design of the documents so that they are adapted for intended execution forms.
• Participate in the preparation of tender documentation of the installations for building.
• Coordinate the design of installations for the buildings and to assist in the coordination of the installation as a whole.
• Monitor intallation designers and forward to planning.
• Monitor the necessary contacts with authorities and permissions is sought by designers.
• In the future the position could include management of a team.Qualifications
• Preferebly a Master of Science or a Bachelor of Science within Construction.
• A strong documented experience of working in an international environment with similar work, is essential.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.

The position is permanent.
Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.

The European Spallation Source ESS AB will design, build and operate a multi-disciplinary, large-scale research infrastructure based on the world's most powerful neutron source. ESS will provide scientists with unique and powerful neutron scattering instruments for the study of a large range of materials - from polymers and pharmaceuticals to membranes and molecules. The ESS project is partnered by 17 European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in full operation 2025, ESS has around 450 employees.
