Description of position
ESS's Project Manager is responsible for delivery of the ESS Construction Project according to its baseline scope, schedule, and cost.
The Project Manager leads the subproject managers and support teams in achieving project goals, especially acting to facilitate integration of work across the subprojects; monitoring, communicating, and reporting on progress; and managing project changes.
The Project Manager is an experienced leader, providing direction to the project team, while inspiring the implementation of solutions and best practices that address the project's priorities and the ESS organization's core values.
Main responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and manage the ESS Construction Project
• Direct, coordinate, and develop the project planning team, Installation Manager, and Technical Coordinators
• Manage ESS project management processes and tools
• Initiate and direct project changes and interventions to achieve project goals using approved change control policies and procedures
• Deploy Technical Coordinators to focus on the most critical interface issues that maximize the benefit to the ESS enterprise including the construction project, as well as subsequent facility operations
Qualifications
Viable candidates need to have an advanced university degree in engineering, physics or relevant discipline, and the following work experience:
• Substantial experience in leading teams and efforts associated with building state-of-the-art facility infrastructures is required; involvement with accelerator, target or scientific instrument facilities is desireable
• Experience working in collaboration with partner institutions
• At least ten years of experience in project management, including a significant period working in a large, complex, international and fast-paced organisation
• A proven track record in delivering change and working strategically with programs and policies
• Demonstrated experience of project planning with strong analytical and writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to organise and execute on a variety of assignments and action plans
• Fluent in English with excellent writing skills

You are highly motivated, forward thinking, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Duration & Location
The employment is a permanent position, but duration for the position as ESS project manager is a 5 year assignment. Your work place will be Lund, Sweden.
