ESG solutions enable investors to develop and integrate responsible investing policies and practices, engage on responsible investment issues, and monitor portfolio company practices through screening solutions. It also provides climate data, analytics, and advisory services to help financial market participants understand, measure, and act on climate-related risks across all asset classes. In addition, ESG solutions cover corporate and country ESG research and ratings enabling its clients to identify material social and environmental risks and opportunities.
OVERVIEW
We are seeking an ESG Analyst for our Sustainable Finance ESG Consultants team in Stockholm/Paris/Berlin. The Sustainable Finance team of ISS ESG provides critical Second Party Opinions on Green, Social and Sustainability-Linked Bonds. The team of ESG Consultants provides issuers on the debt capital market across the globe with independent opinions on the sustainability quality of their transactions.
The successful candidate will be part of the dynamic ISS ESG Sustainable Finance team and will support a team of ESG Consultants based in London and/or Paris as well as Second Party Opinions mandates for bond issuers.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work both independently and collaboratively with the team across different locations. The ability to identify address problems clearly and timely is considered a key success factor. The role will enable the analyst to learn about the sustainable finance ecosystems by taking part in market watch (e.g. competitive landscape, regulation development, key market trends and initiatives).
Candidates should have a passion for sustainability, enjoy fast-paced and multicultural team work, and have a strong analytical and critical mindset. Their role will help drive the development of sustainable finance.

The wider ISS ESG Climate Solutions unit provides data, analytics and consulting services to support investors and governments and help them understand, measure, and act on climate-related risks. As part of this team, the Team Lead will gain robust expertise in climate change impacts on investments across all asset classes and support product development for Climate Corporate Services. He/she will interact daily with colleagues from other units and with clients around the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct analysis on environmental and social performance of companies, sustainability targets, green and social projects categories to be financed under green bonds, as well as analysis of the governance mechanisms applicable to green and social bonds
Support ESG consultants based out of European and North America offices of ISS by assisting in preparation of Second Party Opinion reports and in engagement of corporate clients
Conduct research on latest environmental and social legislations, policies and technologies to contribute to developing assessment methodologies
Be part of a global and dynamic team engaging with corporate clients worldwide on a forever evolving variety of ESG topics and strategies

QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent oral and written command of English and German/Swedish/Finnish/Norwegian or other Nordic languages
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
0-2 years of relevant work experience relating to sustainability/ESG consulting, environmental consulting, responsible investment
Advanced university degree
Proactive positive attitude, innovative, motivated, client-oriented and commercially-aware thinker with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated interest in sustainability and specific knowledge in Green & Social Bonds, sustainable finance or analysis of corporate sustainability strategy is a requirement
