Are you ready for a new challenge in a company that encourages you to take your software design career to new horizons? We are looking for software designers to work with Ericsson's industry-leading SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node). We are adding new functionality to support the next generation network, and want additional designers to work with the design, implementation and design test.
The SGSN is a distributed system written mainly in Erlang and C/C++. SGSN is a central node in the network, providing packet data capability to GSM, 3G and SAE/LTE (Evolved Packet System). The design environment is Erlang/OTP and C++/VisualStudio. Ratonal Rose is used for modeling the design.
You will help develop features in cross-functional teams, together with systems managers and verification engineers. In return, you gain experience in cutting-edge design technology in an international environment that inspires you to develop and grow.
Competence
You should have a passion for mobile networks, and a creative way of working that will continuously enhance our work methods, yet you are also curious to try new ways of working in order to become more efficient. You're a team player who enjoys sharing your knowledge and skills with your colleagues across other business disciplines, but equally, you can work well independently.
You should also have:
• MSc or BSC or similar education;
• some years of software development experience;
• competence with ClearCase;
• good written and communicative skills in English
It is also an advantage if you have the following:
• Erlang;
• C/C++;
• Telecommunication;
• 3GPP specifications;
• UML and modeling tools;
• TCP/IP and other protocols
