The Cab and Operators Environment Common Solutions department has the overall responsibility to provide knowledge in the area of HMI, Ergonomics and HVAC in the global Volvo CE organization. The team also develops common components used in different Volvo machines in areas of the cab and operator environment.

You will work as a design engineer with focus on physical ergonomics along with the cognitive ergonomics in the global organization. The cab or operator station is an important part of the complete machine and it is of great importance to our customer. Today, many of our cabs are market leading in the area of operator environment and we intend to strengthen this position.

Your area of expertise will be the following:

• Physical and cognitive ergonomics
• Ergonomic analysis
• Ergonomic simulations
• Field studies
• User evaluations

You will have the following responsibilities:

• Global responsibility in the field of ergonomics within the Volvo CE organization
• Together with the team create technical design solutions that fulfill needs and requirements in cross functional development projects
• Manage advanced engineering projects
• Be updated on laws and regulations concerning the operator environment

Experience

We think that you have a master degree of science with the focus on physical ergonomics, cognitive knowledge or comparable experience.
You have an interest in developing and improving products from an ergonomic perspective. You preferably have more than 5 years demonstrated experience in the area physical and/or cognitive ergonomics.

It is preferable, but not a demand, if you have knowledge in:

• Catia V5 or similar
• RAMSIS or similar (Transom Jack, Human Builder etc.)
• Qualitative and quantitative research
• Human machine interaction
• The automotive industry
