We are now recruiting an experienced and driven Automation Engineer to be responsible for the design and development of the next generation electrical system for our Sterilizers.
This position offers a great opportunity to develop the technical area. You will be part of the new Global R&D organisation that is responsible for new product development within Getinge Infection Control. Together with your colleagues in the Automation team you will be developing and introducing the award winning new embedded control system across all our products.
The position
In this position you will be the global expert for the electrical control system used in our Sterilizers. You will be responsible for making sure that the system solutions meet the business, regulatory and technical requirements. Further, you will establish and continuously improve a global specification for assigned categories of electrical components.
As responsible for the electrical system in our next generation sterilizers, your key tasks include:
• Responsible for the electrical system for sterilizers
• Identify and initiate improvements to improve performance, secure quality and reduce cost
• Understanding the needs and requirements affecting technical solutions
• Develop solutions together with suppliers and introduce these in new products
• Maintaining a road map for solution development together with the Component Owners
• Provide feed-back and know-how affecting product requirement specifications to the Product integrator and Component Owners
• Build own domain competence
As a component owner, your key tasks include:
• Full responsibility for your own components - from specification, supplier cooperation, verification, cost, quality and regulatory compliance to release of new components
• Drive innovation and global standardization for your own component categories
• Work with suppliers to secure the long term development of your components
• Work with Application owners to optimize the component use across products within the business area
• Support Supply Chain with technical competence and support Product Integration with component know-how
The location is Växjö.
National travel is estimated to 1-2 day per month and international travel is estimated to 5-10 days per year.
As ideal for the position you have:
• A minimum of 5 years' experience from a similar job
• M.Sc or B.Sc preferably in Automation, Control engineering, Electronics or similar
• Experience of designing electrical system for industrial machines
• Experience of product development from med-tech industry or other industry with high requirements on formal processes
• Demonstrated ability to convert customer needs and product requirements into technical specifications
• Technical domain knowledge in the component technology and usage procurements skills in order to translate needs into a requirement specification - not a design or solution
• Experience to work with and develop sub-suppliers on component and sub system level
• Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Swedish is favorable
As a person you are a self-motivated, action- and results oriented. You are innovative and able to work independently with minimal guidance. Good communication and interpersonal skills with capability to influence colleagues as well as being well-organized is essential for this position.
