Publiceringsdatum2012-06-08Beskrivning av verksamhetenThe Clinical Epidemiology Unit at Örebro University Hospital and Örebro University is expanding and has a vacancy for an epidemiologist who will have the opportunity to increase their experience and develop their own programme of research, as well as participating in some of the unit’s other research activities.
Örebro University Hospital and University offers a dynamic research environment with full undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
The Clinical Epidemiology Unit conducts research in a variety of areas, but has a focus on life-course research, where exposures and characteristics, including intergenerational factors, influence later chronic disease risk. Current projects include risks for immune-mediated disease, metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, as well as examining influences on cancer progression. Additionally, the unit is involved in numerous collaborative projects with other hospital clinics and university departments in Örebro and with other institutions in Sweden and abroad.
KvalifikationerThe applicant must have qualifications in a discipline that is relevant to health research and sufficient competence in data handling and statistical analysis so that they can work independently. A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate subject area would be an advantage. Written and spoken fluency in the English language is essential for scientific writing and presentation of results.
Arbetstider och omfattningThe position is full-time and will be for 18 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension. Flexible, but autumn/winter of 2012 is desirable
