Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening in our Operations department as an Environmental Engineer.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Environmental Engineer at Axis you will play an important role in our efforts to be a sustainable company. The role is organized in the Quality & Environment function within the Operations department, but the interfaces stretches across the whole company and also externally to suppliers and authorities. You will be the main interface both internally and externally in all environmental questions and errands.
The main tasks are:
• Contribute to set general environmental targets for the company
• Develop and implement environmental strategies to reach set targets
• Perform environmental investigations
• Update and maintain the company’s environmental management system
• Monitor changes in the environmental legislation and other external environmental requirements, analysing the effects for Axis and driving activities to ensure continued compliance to all applicable environmental requirements
• Perform supplier evaluations from sustainability perspective
• Support product development and maintenance projects with environmental expertise
• Support the sales and marketing organisations with information on environmental performance
• Report to different authorities regarding environmental matters

Axis is a global organization and since this is a centralized position you will work in an international setting with contacts all over the world.
This is a temporary position for August, 2012 to December, 2013.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a university degree within Environmental Management, Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar. If you have work experience from environmental management within an electronics development or manufacturing company it is considered as a merit.
We also believe you have very good communication skills in English, both oral and written. You have excellent people skills and ability to collaborate across organizational borders. You are a structured and self-going person, who sets and achieves tough personal goals.
UNIT QUALITY & ENVIRONMENT
Quality & Environment is part of Operations, which is Axis supply chain organization. We work closely with R&D in the product development and product maintenance projects. Quality & Environment is responsible for ensuring that our suppliers meet all Axis requirements in terms of process efficiency, product quality, environmental performance, ethics, etc. Quality & Environment also leads Axis Quality Council and Environmental Council.
