WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Environmental Engineer at Axis you will play an important role in our efforts to be a sustainable company. The role is organized in the Quality & Environment function within the Operations department, but the interfaces stretches across the whole company and also externally to suppliers and authorities. The environmental team consists of three persons. This is a temporary position while one of the team members is on parental leave. The duration is approximately one year. The main tasks are:
Contribute to set general environmental targets for the company Develop and implement environmental strategies to reach set targets Perform environmental investigations. Update and maintain the company’s environmental management system. Monitor changes in the environmental legislation and other external environmental requirements, analysing the effects for Axis and driving activities to ensure continued compliance to all applicable environmental requirements. Perform supplier evaluations from sustainability perspective. Support product development and maintenance projects with environmental expertise. Support the sales and marketing organisations with information on environmental performance. Report to authorities regarding environmental matters
Axis is a global organization and since this is a centralized position you will work in an international setting with contacts all over the world. The position may require 20 days of international travelling per year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You have excellent people and communication skills and ability to collaborate across organizational borders. You are a self-motivated person who sets and achieves tough personal goals. You have a University degree within Environmental Management, Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar.
Experience from setting up and/or managing an environmental management system according to ISO14001 is a demand and so is experience from performing LCA on products. Work experience from environmental management within a development or manufacturing company is considered a merit.
