You will be part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), a business unit within the Power Grids division in Ludvika. HVDC unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. HVDC LightTM was developed by ABB and is in hot demand on the market today. The technology is particularly suitable for power systems where overhead power lines cannot be built or where power systems need boosting. HVDC Light is also used to connect offshore structures such as platforms and wind farms and offers a good answer to today's demand for environment friendly solutions.

Tasks

Seize the opportunity to take on an expert role within ABB HVDC unit as Environmental Specialist. This job offers great opportunities to influence both your daily work and our entire organization. Your main mission will be to contribute to improving the environmental performance within HVDC by applying in-depth environmental knowledge to offer solutions and advice.

As Environment Specialist, you will be working on a global level with environmental support to our large projects worldwide. You will also be working with instructions and management systems on two levels - one for Sweden and Ludvika, and at a global level.

As Environment Specialist, you will be responsible for the reports on environmental performance, support managers with regulatory compliance issues, contribute to effective risk management by providing advice on key business decisions and implement practices and improvement programs to ensure a strong focus on environment throughout HVDC organization.

You will provide operational support by ensuring appropriate environmental equipment and tools are available and used. Your assignments will require you also to identify, plan and initiate training needs, ensure delivery of training and contribute environment related projects.

Requirements

You are driven, responsible, open-minded and result oriented. You have Master's degree from a university in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety/Health or similar and work experience as Environment Specialist, Environment Engineer or similar roles. You also have in-depth knowledge with ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 50001: 2018, and with international or EU legislation in the environment field such as REACH / RoHS and Weee directive.

To be successful in this position, it is an advantage, when you have working experience with chemical assessments in large companies and knowledge of chemsoft. Experience of working with management systems and/or instructions at a global level is valued.

In addition, you have understanding of environmental management systems and requirements management. You are proficient both in Swedish and in English, able to work independently as well as in groups and you should enjoy working with people.
