About the area Operations Management works together with operations teams across Inter IKEA to lead and develop the overall IKEA operating model, and to enable strategic movements towards IKEA goals. It includes teams for business insights, capability and process development, strategy and roadmap, data and product, and technology and platforms.
Position Summary
The Enterprise Architect (Network) will lead the development of strategic network systems and IT architecture. This role involves creating strategic blueprints, roadmaps, and standards for Networking Technology to support Inter IKEA Group's strategic plans. You will work closely with other key areas of the organisation to define new requirements and drive innovative network and cybersecurity solutions.
Things you can expect to do in this role, but not limited to:
Collaborate with IT Leaders: Work with IT leaders, other Enterprise Architects, and business leaders to document IT capability requirements as part of ongoing planning and governance.
Connectivity and Network Security Solution Development: Translate business requirements into robust network and security solutions. Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive network architecture strategy aligned with the organisation's goals.
Lead Network Delivery and Operations: Guide the network delivery and operations teams in adopting best practices, ensuring compliance with architectural and network security standards.
Network Systems Design and Implementation: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable network systems, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-based solutions.
Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in networking and cybersecurity. Provide recommendations for integrating new technologies and continuous improvement.
Network Architecture and Network Security Assessment: Conduct regular assessments and audits of network architecture and security. Propose enhancements and optimizations to ensure network efficiency, security, and resilience.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration of network and security solutions across the enterprise, collaborating with stakeholders within Inter IKEA and the broader IKEA System.
Strategic Roadmaps for Networking and Security: Develop and deliver forward-looking IT strategic roadmaps focused on advanced technologies such as Zero Trust architectures, SD-WAN, and wireless networking.
Lifecycle Management: Ensure roadmaps reflect investment, divestment, retirement, and consolidation strategies for global systems, incorporating industry best practices and benchmarks.
Architecture Consulting: Provide architectural consulting to solution architects during the design, build/test, and deployment phases of business and technical projects globally.
Performance and Security Analysis: Offer analysis and recommendations on enterprise network performance and security, leveraging benchmarks and industry insights.
Mentorship: Act as an informal mentor and coach to Domain/Solution Architects within other IT teams.
Architectural Assessments: Represent Networking and Network Security in Architectural Assessments and collaborate with external vendors to incorporate best practices into the enterprise architecture.
Technical Skills and Experiences
Network Enterprise Architecture: Proven experience as a Network Enterprise Architect or similar role, designing and implementing complex network and security solutions.
Networking Protocols and Network Security: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS), security principles (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Zero Trust), and emerging technologies (e.g., SDN, NFV).
Network Design and Security Tools: Proficiency with network design and security tools and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and wireless access points.
Cybersecurity Practices: Understanding of cybersecurity practices, including risk assessment, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Analytical and Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound recommendations based on thorough analysis.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, CISM, or similar are highly desirable.
Technology Trends and Business Impact: Understanding of technology directions, trends, and their strategic impacts on the retail industry.
Systems Implementation Leadership: Experience in leading connectivity and network security systems implementations to successful completion.
Global Environment: Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of IT experience in an architecture role focused on both business systems support and the successful delivery and deployment of IT-based network and security solutions.
Network and Security Architecture Proficiency: Strong knowledge of network and security architecture, including LAN, WAN, wireless, datacenters, and cloud networking.
Certifications: TOGAF Certification or similar architecture professional certification is a plus.

This role is full-time (40 hours per week) and is based Malmö, Sweden. This role sits in the Operations Management and reports to the Architecture Manager (Technology & Platform)
