Your Responsibilities
As a technical Project Manager, you have a leading role in development projects and ensure that the products meet the product specification. You are responsible for driving the projects forward with your technical expertise and experience in project management. Your tasks include:
* Manage and drive products technical development through R&D 's NPI process ("New Product Introduction").
* Hold the overall technical responsibility for the projects and distribute tasks to various key functions such as Design Lead, Test Lead, Quality Lead etc.
* Review the technical design and functionality of the products.
* Deliver qualified products meeting the production requirements.
* Communicate technical status and escalate technical gaps to management.
* Support other functions with the projects in technical decision making.
* Actively contribute to product and technology improvement.
* Support customer in product optimization and usage.
The Bigger Picture
You work closely with your colleagues in product development and you report to the head of project management. Your workplace is Coherent premises in Järfälla and you have the opportunity to partly work from home, while being part of an international company with around 100 offices and factories around the world.
Our development projects are in collaboration with colleagues in other offices around the world, thus meetings with colleagues in other countries are part of your everyday life. We have regular remote digital meetings and sometimes there are also trips abroad, mainly to the USA, Germany and China.
Our Expectations
We are looking for you with a MSc or a PhD in electronics, physics or similar. You have solid experience in project management and have manage technical projects from start to finish, for example in the role of Technical Manager, Project Manager or Lead Engineer. Furthermore, you have solid technical competence and experience in the high-tech industry, preferably in optoelectronics. This position requires fluency in English since the communication is mainly in English.
As a person, you thrive in a responsible and leading role where you get to create the structure for moving projects forward. You have the ability to engage and create trust with project members through your ability to communicate and interact. You are motivated by finding solutions and take initiatives for improvement and development.
