Axis is now looking for the right persons to fill two positions as Engineering Manager for teams within the New Business R&D.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
To enable continued strong growth and have the best focus in new areas, two new teams have been created. These teams are newly formed but with engineers already working with some of the main projects.
Team New Products
Main focus for this team is our two new product areas, Door Station and IP Audio, and evaluating of new product ideas. Your team consists of embedded developers that in collaboration with our Electronic & Mechanic team develop the next generation products. The team is responsible for all firmware phases of the product areas; architecture, design, implementation, maintenance and trouble shooting.
Team Applications
Main focus for this team is applications to all New Business product areas. This means web applications, mobile applications and management software. The team members could typically be part of a cross organization development project for a product, or drive an own project to develop a specific application. The team is responsible for all kind of activities of our applications; architecture, user interaction, graphical elements, implementation, maintenance and trouble shooting.
Common for the both positions is running the day-to-day operations and making sure that we have the right competence, processes and tools. Coaching the personnel as well as appraisal, development and salary talks are important parts of the position. You will work close to the business and product managers and will be heavily involved in discussions on product strategies, selection of technical platforms and following up on project status. Recruitment will be another central task and you will have the opportunity and responsibility to build and form your team and its work methods to meet future challenges.
You will report to the Technical Manager of the New Business department.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You should have a strong interest in people and have the ability to motivate the people you work with, creating an open and innovative work environment. Apart from this we believe you have a strong personal drive, enjoy teamwork and are a natural leader.
We believe you have a master’s degree in engineering and a professional background relevant for the team’s technical area, both as leader and engineer.
You will work in a team in an expansive phase and your ability to introduce new employees and build the team will be crucial for our success.
OUR NEW BUSINESS DEPARTMENT
The New Business department is a unique group within Axis. The group is responsible for both evaluating new business ideas from a technical and a commercial perspective, and product development to offer customers the best products on the market. The department has market oriented business development resources as well as product development resources. The department’s focus is on ideas outside Axis current focus on Network Video. The ambition is to leverage on Axis existing expertise and capacity which will require a flexible and open co-operation with other departments.
