Axis is now looking for the right persons to fill three positions as Engineering Managers for newly formed teams within the Product Development organizations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
To enable continued growth a reorganization has been made within R&D with more focused teams. These teams are newly formed but with engineers already working with these tasks.
The three teams are:
• PMT/HVM
The PMT/HVM team is part of the Development Services department within the product development organization and focuses on product maintenance.
Product maintenance involves all hardware mechanical and electronic improvement activities of existing products. The main purpose is to improve product quality and reduce cost. The activities are initiated with input from customers, suppliers, and manufacturing as well as from Axis R&D and business functions. The team is responsible for the whole chain from root cause analysis and design to roll out in ongoing production. The team works in close cooperation with other teams within R&D and operations
• Tech&Ref
The Tech&Ref team handles electronic and mechanical activities together with our technology development. The work aims to find solutions that can be used in future products. The Tech&Ref team is also part of the Development Services department and works in close cooperation with our electronics and mechanics teams and out technology department.
• New Business E&M
The New Business department is responsible for concept of new ideas and further on developing them to new product areas. The department’s focus is outside Axis current focus on Network Video. The ambition is to leverage on Axis existing expertise and capacity which will require a flexible and open co-operation with other departments.
As Engineering Manager you will be responsible for driving and developing a group of highly skilled and experienced engineers. You will have the overall responsibility and your main tasks will include:
• Long term planning
• Allocate resources to projects
• Follow up and evaluate projects
• Develop the team and its processes
• Budgeting
• Teambuilding
• Recruitment
• Appraisal, development and salary talks
• Coaching the engineers in the daily work
• Speaking partner in technical discussions
You will report to the director of the Development Services department or New Business depending of team.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for driven and service minded Engineering Managers with previous team leading experience to lead and prioritize the work in the teams. We believe you have an educational background in engineering with a relevant master’s degree, previous engineering experience within the area and enjoy engaging in technical problem solving.
Since the teams work with both electronic and mechanical development it is important to have understanding of both disciplines.
Experience and knowledge of production processes is a plus.
You will work in a highly skilled team and your ability to introduce new employees and build the team will be crucial for our success.
