Main worktasks
This position is located at the Hangar & Large Application Door (HLAD) department at ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems division. As Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the complete engineering/technical scope regarding all HLAD product lines within EMEA. You will lead and manage the engineering team and be responsible for the products, specifications, calculations, R&D and other processes related to engineering, as well as the staff, its individual development and relevant HR functions. You will be part of the HLAD EMEA Management Team, reporting to EMEA Site Manager and global Supply Chain Manager.
Additionally you will be responsible for review and approve in- house calculations, shop drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings and parts lists developed by designers as well as maintainig up-to-date engineering documentation.
You will do the engineering design oversight for EMEA in conjunction with HLAD America. The role includes some travel at occasion, but no frequent travelling is required.
Your profile
To manage the work we believe you have a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qulification. You have at least 5 years of working experience from design and/or engineering. You are also fluent in English both written and spoken. It is a plus if you have some previous leadership experience.
You would describe yourself as someone with personal drive and engagement in your area. You are innovative and solutionoriented providing the skills needed. You are also able to work methodical and with accuracy. You have the ability to complete tasks even with limited resources.
If you also have electrical engineering skills and experience from analyzing/ calculation tools, e.g. FEM analysis that is an advantage.
