Game Systems is all about scalability, supporting games like Candy Crush, which means handling millions of requests per second in some systems. As our games and tech evolve we also have to scale our people and the team. This is where you come in to play!

YOUR ROLE WITHIN OUR KINGDOM
About us? In Game Systems we build the foundational systems that allow King to release games to any number of players. The team consists of 15 fun and friendly Kingsters (Java Engineers, Build Engineers and Frontend Engineers) and together we develop:
• Application servers
• Scalable sharded datastores
• Frameworks and infrastructure for building game management tooling (AB Testing, Tracking, Live Ops etc.)
• Multiplayer systems (Mobile)
As our sparkling new Engineering Manager, you will inspire and empower the talents in your team, so they can excel in building great software, whilst supporting individual career growth through specific goal setting and continuous feedback.
You'll have a humble and open approach to leadership, with a strong belief in autonomy and a keen interest in developing people plus a side interest in gaming and techy stuff!
SKILLS TO CREATE THRILLS
We think your saga started with a passion for problem-solving and tech, leading towards developing exciting software at scale.
You'll also have a soft spot for humans and be heavily committed in helping people to grow, with a passion for developing teams and people (through recruitment, mentoring, coaching, facilitating feedback and performance management)
The ideal person for this role, will be an experienced Development/Engineering Manager with a technical background in software engineering (from roles such as developer, programmer, architect, data scientist) with a genuine interest in scalable backend systems, platforms and how they can accelerate the success of their users

We know your'e intrigued by the gaming world .. so if you also have professional experience from the gaming industry, we sure would like to hear your story.
In saying that we are totally open to other industries, we are just super keen to find an inquisitive Engineering Manger who has a dev ops mindset, can identify a hack solution and question things.
