About the position:
The challenge for the Engineering Manager is to build team performance to make sure we efficiently deliver high quality software.
As an Engineering Manager, you will typically lead a team of 5 to 15 persons with different roles, e.g. Software Engineers, UI designers, Technical Architects, and Functional Testers. Your team has
the responsibility for a specific technology area within the UIQ product.
Your responsibilities include:
• Planning and assigning resources to development projects
• People management tasks like recruitment, appraisals and training planning
• Ensuring that quality standards are adhered to
• Seeking new ways of improving productivity and quality
• Improving team efficiency by implementing process improvements
• Managing technology suppliers and sub-contractors
Qualifications and Skills:
We believe you have a background in the software or telecom industry, preferably with a degree in computer science, software development, or equivalent. You have worked several years within software
development and have a proven track record of managing people as well as technology areas. You have comprehensive understanding of how complex software products are designed, developed, and verified.
Key capabilities/skills/qualities are:
• Self commitment attitude, find solutions not excuses
• Provide strong overall direction in an inspiring manner
• Ability to take responsibility for own performance
• Ability to explain and present to a senior audience, internally and externally
• Basic knowledge in economics and budget processes
