We're looking for an engineering manager to help us continue to grow our already world-class machine learning organization. You'll lead a team of talented data scientists and data engineers working on projects across Schibsted's News Media, Marketplaces and Next (growth companies) divisions.
In this role you will
- Manage a central team of data scientists and data engineers, delivering major impact across all of Schibsted
- Develop people through coaching and mentoring
- Work in a distributed environment leading a team based in both Sweden and Norway
- Collaborate with your product counterpart to ensure the team is empowered to deliver on its mission
- Contribute to the technical strategy of the organization and shape how ML is applied across Schibsted
- Foster great teamwork, transparency, and efficiency in collaboration with other teams in the organization in order to reach our and their goals
- Attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent.
About you
- You have solid experience as an engineering leader. You have led a team before, and when we talk to you about recruitment, team dynamics, team development and performance enablement you can line up relevant examples from your journey as a leader
- You thrive on developing people and building a diverse and inclusive team

- You're an effective communicator and bring strong feedback skills to your team.
- You're proficient in English in verbal and written form
- Experience leading data teams is a major plus, particularly experience working with data scientists/ML engineers
- You will not be expected to be hands on in this role, but technical expertise in data engineering or data science is a plus.
