Job Description
As an Engineering Manager - JAVA Backend at H&M Group, you will be responsible for leading a team of 15-20 individuals, with room for growth. Your primary focus will be ensuring that the product teams have the right competencies by strategically managing consultants and employees. This role requires a genuine interest in the development and growth of individuals, providing vision, security, and clarity on their journey. You will navigate multiple stakeholder demands, handle pressure, and translate long-term goals into actionable strategies, leveraging your ability to zoom in and out of the big picture. While your role will not involve hands-on technical work, your technical leadership will be crucial in guiding and supporting the Java Backend development teams.
This role sits within the Product Engineering Center of Excellence team, distributed in Sweden and India.
Qualifications
Springboot: Strong understanding of Springboot and the ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure adherence to engineering practices and structures.
Microservice Architecture: Proficiency in microservice architecture to lead and drive technical decisions.
JAVA: In-depth knowledge of modern Java versions (preferably no older than Java 12) to provide expertise and guidance to the development teams.
Previous managerial experience: Proven experience as a manager is essential, as we are seeking someone who can step into the role and lead effectively from day one.
Knowledge of a large enterprise: Familiarity with big enterprise environments, ideally from a similar industry with complex backend systems will be advantageous.
