Axis is now looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Firmware Applications Team.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Engineering Manager at Firmware Applications you will be responsible for building a team of highly skilled software developers and driving the team towards its goals. You will have the overall responsibility and your main tasks will include:
• Long term planning
• Recruitment
• Budgeting
• Teambuilding
• Appraisal, development and salary talks
• Allocate resources to projects
• Follow up and evaluate projects
• Run the day-to-day operations
• Speaking partner in technical discussions
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a Master’s degree in computer science (or similar) and documented leadership skills. You’re passionate about software development and we prefer that you have a background within the field of embedded systems.
Furthermore, we believe you have the ability to manage and motivate people. You have an interest for, and experience of, innovation management and are an open minded leader with demonstrated problem-solving skills. You enjoy taking responsibility and are good at motivating and encouraging the people you work with.
In your past you have managed software development, either as a manager or as a project manager. You have hands-on experience of agile methodologies and you enjoy networking with people in different positions and departments.
THE FIRMWARE APPLICATIONS TEAM
The Firmware Applications Team is a new team within the Products & Services department. The team will be responsible for developing applications and add-ons on top of the Linux Firmware Platform. This means taking an overall responsibility for the specified areas regarding roadmap, development, architecture, competence and quality. The team will work very closely with parallel teams and with Product Management to build a common firmware distribution for our whole product portfolio and to build system solutions for the market.
