Concept Centre is a secret and magic place at Volvo Cars where we make our full-scale drivable concept cars and a place where ideas, concepts and new products first see daylight and we are now looking for an experienced and skilled leader ready to take on a new challenge.
The department Prototype Build & Verification is responsible for R&D: s prototype builds and the verification environment. The Prototype Build and Verification consist of different facilities instead business areas such as Logistics, Pilot Plant Assembly, Concept Centre, Laboratories, Workshops, Proving Ground, Facility Investment Strategy Management, Maintenance and Measurement Technology.
At Concept Centre we develop and make a wide range of products for internal customers cross the company. We have the capability to plan, design, engineer and make prototypes and rigs using different techniques and methods. We do everything from full scale prototype cars used to evaluate e.g., ergonomics, aerodynamics, safety, and design, to a wide range of smaller projects.
What you'll do
We are now looking for our next committed and collaborative colleague who is eager to join us!
You will support the team and work in close partnership with your colleagues in the department, company, collaboration partners and external suppliers.
Engineering and Order Office's main deliveries are project management and concept engineering. Functions as finance and planning is also in this team.
Your key responsibilities will be to support and develop your team and team members, set strategy and together with the management team make long- and short term to secure capability, and capacity now and in the future. You are responsible to deliver according to cycle plan.

Competence is Important
• M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Design and vehicle engineering experience or other relevant knowledge within conceptual development.
• Experienced in managing a diverse and skilled specialist team in a centre of excellence environment
• Experience in conceptual mechanical design is meritous
• High level of proficiency in communication in English (Swedish is meritorious) and interpersonal relationships.
