A part of the Developer Experience Unit, a newly created team - Engineering Culture seeks to create an inclusive culture and take steps to promote diversity, retention, and promotion processes. The mission and purpose of the team are to foster a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation, risk-taking, and continuous learning. It also seeks to establish and enforce engineering standards, such as coding practices, testing, and deployment procedures, to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead this newly created Engineering Culture team. The team holds a central place in the IT organization (Business Tech / BT) as the stewards of a vibrant and engaging engineering culture and the practices, tools, technologies, and guardrails associated with it.
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success by:
Identifying what Engineering Culture means and driving adoption activities to have it bond in the organization.
Driving support and adoption of practices, tools, and methodologies and collaborating across the organization.
Collaborating with multiple stakeholders and driving activities related to Engineering Guardrails for Business Tech.
Own, develop, and maintain core tools and platforms that support the Engineering Culture of BT.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage a team of skilled engineers within the Engineering Culture, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, helping them grow professionally and achieve their full potential.
Manage, distribute, analyze, and act on findings from recurring Developer Experience surveys.
Stay up-to-date with the latest in Engineering Culture and Developer Experience and suggest how that can be implemented in BT.
Set clear objectives, goals, and priorities for the team, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
Provide change management and implementation support services to other teams wishing to have their tools, technology, platforms, or practices as part of the Engineering Culture.
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of TechRadar and Technology Community Information page (TechSpot)
Govern, develop, and foster the adoption of the central knowledge repository platform.
Ensure BT executives support the adoption of the identified Engineering Culture.
Effectively communicate project statuses, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications
Extensive experience working as a Senior Software Engineer in a complex system landscape, software development frameworks, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, DevOps)
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP)
Strong facilitation skills (e.g., Agile ceremonies, Workshops) and knowledge of practices and principles
Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, leading teams in building and maintaining products and platforms
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Continuous learning mindset, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies

Good to have:
Understanding of Guardrails and implementation of them
Experience in Engineering Platforms
Experience with Developer Portals (IDP)
Understanding of Developer Experience (as a concept and practice)
