Business Tech is a new modern agile product organization within the larger H&M group. We are a team of small and cross-competent teams each owning a product end-to-end with a mission to meet and exceed our customers' expectations. You will be able to try out your creative and innovative ideas - and have an indecisive impact on how we shape the future of fashion and design.
In the AI, Analytics & Data domain you will be part of our AI Foundation Product Area where our vision is to make H&M Group the industry leader in applied AI with scalable and integrated solutions covering the entire value chain .

Job Description
Responsibilities
The role has a dual focus - staff responsibility and delivery. As a Machine Learning Engineer Manager you will have staff responsibility over employees within the same/adjacent competence as your own. Your staff responsibility goes across different Product Teams and tasks include development conversations, salary review and other staff related activities. You will have the responsibility to build up a high-performing team of talented individuals. You will work in an agile team, with the responsibility for creating and designing solutions which fulfils our customers' shopping experience. As a Machine Learning Engineer Manager you will also:
Work with professional Machine Learning best practices for the full AI development life cycle.
Translate product strategy and requirement into suitable, maintainable and scalable solution design
Collaborate closely with product owner and other cross-functional teams, share best practice as well as discuss and motivate design solutions.

We are looking for you who:
As a Machine Learning Manager at H&M Group you will embark on a journey that will lead to something new and exciting - we will test, fail and learn. For this assignment, we are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience in leadership roles in tech environments.
You are an important player in this transformation, and so we believe you are communicative, flexible and able to work in an environment that is not yet formalized. You have previous experience from working in large companies with many stakeholders, you have worked with distributed teams, and you know how to translate business requirements and visualize technical roadmaps. You will also:
Collaborate with other engineers and specialists in building data-driven solutions that have laser-focus on business problems and our customers
Build products in a varied of technologies and with varied focus (reporting, self-service analytics, large-scale data processing)
Use your expertise and creativity to solve problems using modern technologies and software engineering, in the areas of data quality, testing, deployment and monitoring
Who you are:

We believe that you have:
Previous experience from leadership and staff responsibility
have a degree within software engineering or similar field (e.g. computer science and programming) and a strong will to continuously develop your engineering skillset
are a hands-on person, love coding as much as breathing and would like to deploy software engineering practice into machine learning projects.
have at least 6 years of working experience in developing machine learning products
are experienced in one of following programming languages: Python, Scala or Java. Experience in Spark and distributed computing is seen as a merit.
have experience with handling high volume heterogeneous data (both batch and stream) and good understanding about data storage and data structure would be a big plus
have experience in agile environment, team collaboration, data-driven development, reliable and responsible experimentation
you are a team player, solution-driven and open-minded, with a passion for continuous improvement
