The Engineering Lead in Digital Health will be a member of the AstraZeneca Science and Enabling Units Engineering team. Our engineering team is being expanded and we are looking for problem solvers who take accountability for their work and like to collaborate. About this Role

The Digital Health Platform consists of several solutions where we are looking at harmonizing both backend and frontend solutions in to service catalogue of solutions. This is a combination of COTS and bespoke parts. Connected devices and SaaMD (Software as a Medical Device) will be a crucial part of the solutions.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to be engaged and lead in this space as we implement our new platform and solutions.

As Engineering Lead you will be accountable for all aspects of implementation of change and new demand. You will also be involved in ensuring we adhere to technology standards, technical design. Yoy will be the expert in how this technology / platform is implemented and consumed in the business. You will also collaborate closely with the architecture and Platform Lead to ensure we are on track for continuous delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Engineering Lead will engage in assigned activities to manage the technical delivery and coordinate a team of on-shore and off-shore technical resources including 3rd party contract resources. In this role you will influence and be engaged in technical standards and technical design principles as well as leverage these for a successful implementation. You will:

* Assess business and technical requirements in line with IT strategy and business priorities as well as lead high-level investigations or analysis aligned to the strategy.
* Lead a team of software engineers aligned to the Digital Health solutions.
* Design complex software solutions in a sustainable and manageable way using existing and new platforms, in close collaboration with enterprise and solution architecture.
* Gain a deep understanding of business requirements and develops strategy to align technical solutions and technical design.
* Define and adhere to software engineering & platform engineering practices.
* Oversee estimation of effort and duration for complex solutions.

Essential Requirements

* Significant software engineering background and capabilities, 3+ years.
* Strong understanding of modern software engineering patterns and architectures.
* Strong understanding of modern cloud architectures and offerings.
* Experience of using Agile approaches across projects and products.
* Skilled in communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.
* Willingness to be driving and leading innovative solutions.

Desirable Requirements

* Advanced degree in a Software Engineering related field.
* Higher level business qualification.
* Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working.
* Self-driven and reliable
* Eager to learn
* Regulatory knowledge, i.e GxP validation or similar
